Comedian Jessica Kirson to Headline “Comedy Cause 3” at the Academy of Music
A benefit show for ServiceNet’s shelters

Comedy as a Weapon will present “Comedy Cause 3” at the Academy of Music on Saturday, September 7th at 8pm. Proceeds from the show will benefit ServiceNet’s shelters, which Comedy as a Weapon founder, Tim Lovett, found himself utilizing early in his career.

Jessica Kirson (Jay Leno, HBO’s Crashing) will headline this hilarity for charity as Kim “Boney” Deshields (Nick at Nite’s funniest Moms, Wendy Williams) hosts the show. Other acts include Tim Lovett (Opener for Donnell Rawlings, Oak City Comedy Festival), and the Champion of the Comedy Royale. The Alchemystics will open the show with their blend of Reggae, Hip-hop, gritty Soul, and hard-driving Rock guaranteed to charge up any crowd. DJ Groove from Good Groove Entertainment will provide music throughout.

Jessica Kirson is a powerhouse on stage. In an era when only 10% of all touring comedians are female, she stands out as one of the strongest comedians regardless of gender. Her act is a hilariously relatable performance of sheer silliness, vulnerability, and ridiculous characters. And her countless comedic character videos have racked up more than 30 million views on social media. Jessica’s material is suitable for all ages, creating a great opportunity for groups of friends and family to share a night out together. As her friend Dave Attell says, “I’d hate to follow her.”

This year, Jessica will be featured playing herself on the HBO series, Crashing, with Pete Holmes. She recently served as a consultant, producer, writer, and actor for the Robert DeNiro film,The Comedian. And she has appeared on The View, Kevin Can Wait, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Jessica was recently awarded “Best Female Comic” by the MAC association in New York City, and she received the prestigious Nightlife Award for “Best Stand-up Comedian.” This fall, Comedy Central will feature Jessica in a special produced by Bill Burr. Jessica is a regular contributor to The Howard Stern Show, where she produces and stars in prank calls for the program.
