NORTHAMPTON, MA – The clouds were dark, the smell of sulfur was in the air. The conditions were favorable , all that was needed was a spark. That spark came on the 2nd pitch as outfielder Krystal Oldread hit a base hit that would ignite the Storm offense, which led to a 12-run scoring frenzy through the 4th inning. Coming off an 18-0 shutout loss just a few days earlier to the Iron Horse, the Storm offense posted a 15-3 lead over the Atalasoft Docubots going into the 5th inning. The Docubots would not go down so easily, putting pitcher John Plummer in a couple of jams late, to cut the lead 17-14 in the bottom of the 7th. However, the Storm would not be denied. With 1 out, catcher Brandi Seibertz was able to make the catch from a pop-up fly at the plate making out #2. With 1 out left and runners on base, Plummer ended the game by putting his glove up and making a line drive catch, ensuring The Storm’s first victory of the season. All is not over with the Docubots, however, as they will be seeking revenge on Friday night’s rematch at Ray Ellerbrook field.
