On Pushing Ourselves to Push Others

Over the years that I have been at ServiceNet, I have been part of many conversations regarding whether or not to push or make demands on our clients (especially our residential clients and others for whom we provide intensive support): demands to participate in program activities, to adopt healthier lifestyles, to go back to school or work; in short, to make changes in their lives. The other side of the conversation is the human rights issue (the right to refuse treatment; to refuse to work, study, eat better, exercise; or to refuse to make other life changes).   (click to read more)
